NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – A 32-year-old woman was shot while standing outside a home.
Police say they received a call around 5:38 p.m. for a shooting in the 3500 block of Madison Avenue.
Based on witness statements, there was a vehicle in the area of 36th and Madison. Officers were told that a person got out of a vehicle and started to shoot towards two other men, and it did not appear that the woman was an intended target.
