Portsmouth, Va. – A man suspected of robbing a Family Dollar at knifepoint has been arrested.
Police say the robbery happened on 5744 Churchland Boulevard at 8:47 p.m. Sunday night.
Detectives say the suspect walked into the store, pulled out a knife and demanded money from an employee.
The employee gave the suspect the cash and the suspect ran away.
Officers searched the area after the robbery and found the suspect, 32-year-old Gerald W. Haley.
Haley has been charged with robbery and is being held in Portsmouth City Jail.
No one was harmed in the incident.
