Hampton, Va. - Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in a McDonald's parking lot in Hampton on Monday night.
Police have identified the man as 25-year-old Antonio Terrell Taylor.
Taylor, who served in the Navy between 2011 and 2015, was pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds. The motive is under investigation.
On Tuesday, his family was too upset to talk about his death, but friends tell NewsChannel 3 that Taylor was a friendly and happy person which is why they are so shocked to hear that he was murdered.
"We are all drawing blanks," says Curtis Jennings, a childhood friend of Taylor's. "He was a fun loving person that was the last guy that I've known to be like that."
Employees of the restaurant say there were a handful of people inside when the shooting occurred.
One employee, Imana Richardson, says she was not working on Monday night but her friends were.
"They heard three gunshots in the car, pushed the guy out, and then shot him three more times," she says.
McDonald's released the following statement about the incident:
"We take the safety of our employees and customers very seriously and are working with the proper authorities to assist in their investigation."
