Officers received a call about a robbery at the 7-Eleven in the 3300 block of West Avenue around midnight.

According to police, the clerk said a man with an orange beard and white eye wearing all black came into the store to buy an item.

After the clerk opened the store register, the man leaned over the counter and demanded cash.

The man placed his hand in his pocket, implying that he had a gun.

After telling the cashier that he would take everything in the register drawer, the suspect told her he was “just kidding” and walked out of the store without any money.

Officers found a man matching the description around 30th Street and West Avenue.

Officers arrested Rodney Jermone Pryer, 51, for attempted robbery.  Pryer did not have a weapon on him.
