Va. State Police investigating single-engine plane crash near West Point airport

Virginia State Police are investigating a single-engine plane crash that occurred Monday, November 30th around 10:30 p.m. in King and Queen County.

The pilot, Christopher B. Strasser of Pennsylvania, left Fort Meade, Maryland in the 1977 Grumman Tiger airplane en route to Jamestown.

Strasser was redirected to the West Point Regional Airport due to weather. As he approached the airport, the plane stalled and crash landed in a marsh.

Strasser was not injured.

The plane is currently still in the marsh. The airport and the owner are making arrangements to have it removed.

The FAA and NTSB were notified of the incident.
