Man airlifted to hospital after rollover crash in Suffolk

Suffolk, Va. – A man had to be airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital after his vehicle crashed and rolled over several times early Thursday morning.

Suffolk Police say they were notified of the incident at 6:16 a.m.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the man was driving a Chevrolet Suburban in the 4900 block of Gardner Lane when his vehicle left the roadway and rolled several times due to speed.

The driver was extricated from the vehicle by Suffolk Fire & Rescue and airlifted to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
