Newport News, Va. (WTKR) – A man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in the area of 49th Street and Jefferson Avenue.
Newport News Police tell NewsChannel 3 that they were called at 6:59p.m. for the crash and found the man in his late 50s suffering from injuries from being hit by a car.
Police say the driver of the car stayed on scene and the Newport News Police Crash Reconstruction Team is handling the investigation.
Reports say the officer doesn’t intend to file charges against the driver, according to police.
