Outer Banks, NC – Authorities are trying to find out why a humpback whale washed up on the beach Monday on Hatteras Island.
The Outer Banks Voice reports crews found the dead animal near Ramp 55.
They’re conducting a necropsy before burying the carcass above the high tide line.
More information is expected Tuesday.
