Posted

Norfolk, Va. – A woman was sent to the hospital after being hit by a car near the intersection of Curlew Drive and Newtown Road.

On December 14 around 3 p.m., police received a call about an accident involving a pedestrian.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found a woman near the road with minor injuries.  The woman was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital as a precaution.

Investigators say the woman was trying to cross the road and was hit by oncoming traffic. She was not in a marked cross walk and did not have right of way.

A misdemeanor summons may be pending against the woman. The driver was not charged.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative during the investigation.
