Portsmouth, Virginia - Police say a woman was shot to death in the area of Deep Creek Boulevard and Graham Street around 2:20 a.m.
Police received a 911 call requesting medical assistance for a male and female suffering gunshot wounds on December 15.
When officials arrived at the scene, they found 27-year-old Vandalet Mercer suffering from a gunshot wound to her torso and a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand. Mercer was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police do not have motive or suspect information at this time.
