***A Flood Warning is in effect for the Nottoway River in Sussex County. Minor flooding is expected today as the river is expected to crest at 15.3’ this evening.

Record setting warmth… Highs today will climb into the upper 70s, setting new daily high temperature records. We will be in the ballpark of our all-time December record for Norfolk, 81°. We will see mostly cloudy skies today with scattered showers. A few stray storms could mix in but most of the severe weather will remain to our west. It will be windy today, with south winds at 10 to 20 mph. When you wake up Christmas morning expect mostly cloudy skies, scattered showers and temperatures in the mid 60s. Highs will warm to the mid 70s, near daily records. Scattered showers and stray storms are possible through Friday. Rain chances will drop a bit more for the weekend with a mix of clouds and sun. Highs will linger in the low to mid 70s.
