Posted

***FLOOD WARNING is in effect for the Nottoway River in Southampton and Sussex Counties. Minor flooding is occurring.  In particular, the Nottoway River at Sebrell was at 16.2′ Sunday morning. The river will continue rising to 17.4′ by Tuesday afternoon.  The river is expected to fall below flood stage late Wednesday night.***

Tracking several days of rain and much cooler temps….We started off this Sunday with areas of dense fog. But as we continue moving through the afternoon, some of us will be lucky enough to see peeks of sun between the clouds. High temperatures will be in the mid 70s. Tonight, mostly cloudy skies will be with us. A couple of isolated showers are possible late. Overnight low temperatures will be in the low and mid 50s. Make sure you have your rain gear handy this week. We’re tracking several chances for rain as we approach 2016.  In fact, there will be a chance of rain each day as several weather systems move our way. High temps on Monday will be in the 50s. Then, for the rest of the week, we’ll see highs in the 60s and 70s. By next weekend, though, there will be a big shift in our weather pattern as the jet stream moves farther to the south and delivers cooler drier weather into the New Year! We’re expecting highs in the upper 40s and lower 50s next Saturday.

Today: Clouds and Sun. Warm. High temperatures in the mid 70s. Winds: SW 10-15 mph.

Tonight: Mostly Cloudy and Cool. Isolated Shower Late (20%). Low temperatures in the low and mid 50s. Winds: SW 10-15 mph.

Tomorrow: Mostly Cloudy. Chance of Showers (30%). Breezy. High temperatures in the upper 50s. Winds: NE 15-25 mph.
