PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Portsmouth Police say they are investigating two shootings that happened on Sunday night.
Police received a call at 6:22 p.m. for an adult male that came into the Maryview Medical Center emergency room with a gunshot wound.
The man was shot in the lower body and torso, but police do not know where the incident occurred.
Officers believe the shooting happened in the city of Portsmouth.
Police say he was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Portsmouth Police Dispatch received a 911 call for a second shooting at 9:06 p.m. for a woman that was shot in the upper body on the 100 block of Allen Road.
She was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with serious injuries.
There is no suspect information at this time.
