Newport News, Va. - Police are currently investigating the homicide of a 33-year-old man.
When officers arrived to the scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound lying on the sidewalk near the intersection of 30th Street and Madison Avenue.
The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:11 p.m. He has been identified as 33-year-old Damian Ramon Terry of the 3400 block of Marshall Avenue.
A preliminary investigation shows that Terry was walking down Madison Avenue when a person in a dark colored vehicle drove past him fired shots in the victim's direction.
