Wednesday’s VIPIR Forecast: Dense fog, more rain and a big cool down

*** A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 9:00 AM for the Peninsula, Middle Peninsula, inland Southside and inland NE NC. All of Hampton Roads and NE NC will see dense fog this morning but these areas will likely see the lowest visibility.

More rain then a big cool down… Watch out for areas of dense fog this morning with many areas seeing less than one mile of visibility. Rain chances will be low this morning with drizzle mixed with the fog. Rain chances will increase for the afternoon with areas of heavy rain and even a stray storm mixed in. Highs today will reach the upper 60s, cooler than yesterday but still well above normal for late December. Rain chances will continue for Thursday as a stationary front lingers over the Carolinas. Temperatures will fall from near 60 to near 50 through the day. Highs will return to the low 50s and upper 40s for Friday, the weekend and into early next week.

***A Flood Warning remains in effect for the Nottoway River in Southampton County. The river is at minor flooding levels now. Water levels will gradually fall over the next few days.

Tonight: Cloudy, Rain(90%). Lows near 60. Winds: S/W 5-10

Tomorrow: Mostly Cloudy, Scattered Showers(60%). Temps falling through the 50s. Winds: N 5-10
