Virginia Beach, Va. – Fire crews were called to a boat fire in the Pocaty River in Virginia Beach on Thursday morning.

A duck hunter saw the boat on fire and called authorities just before 6:00 a.m.  The caller reported that the fire was in the river and not moving. They believed it was anchored and may have been there for a while.

The fire has been extinguished and the boat is being towed to West Neck Marina.

Crews are searching the area for possible victims as a precaution.
