Tuesday’s VIPIR Forecast: Morning snow, very cold and windy

***Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 10 AM for Dare County. Snowfall accumulations near 0.25” overnight with reports of icy roads from Nags Head to Duck.

AM Snow, Very Cold & Windy… “Bay effect” snow will continue to fall for areas along the Chesapeake Bay, coastal Southside and coastal NE NC this morning. Snow showers will taper off by mid-morning and skies will clear through midday. Temperatures this morning are in the 20s but it feels like the teens and single digits due to strong north winds. Temperatures will climb above freezing this afternoon but it will not feel like it. Wind chills will only top out in the upper 20s this afternoon. Winds will relax tonight as temperatures fall into the 20s. We will warm into the 40s on Wednesday with partly cloudy skies and lighter winds. Highs will warm to near 60 for the end of the work week with rain in the forecast for Friday.

Tonight: A Few Clouds, Breezy. Lows in the upper 20s. Winds: N 10-15

Tomorrow: Partly Cloudy, Not as Cold or Windy. Highs in the upper 40s. Winds: NE 5-10
