Family displaced by early morning house fire in Suffolk

Suffolk, Va. – Two adults and their pets were displaced by an early morning fire at their Suffolk home on Wednesday.

Suffolk Fire & Rescue crews responded to the 4900 block of Milners Road at 1:19 a.m. and found smoke showing from the two story home.

The fire was quickly located in the single story addition to the rear of the residence and it was extinguished at 1:41 a.m.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The two adults, dog and cat will be staying with family while they are temporarily displaced fromt he home.

No one was injured.

Responding units included Engines 1, 4 and 6, Ladder 3, Rescue 1 and 6, Medic 6, Battalion 1, EMS-1, and Tankers 1 and 9.  Crews also received assistance from members of the Chuckatuck Volunteer Fire Department.
