Chesapeake, Va. - A 28-year-old Norfolk man has been arrested and charged in connection to a shooting that occurred early Thursday morning at the Extended Stay American hotel at 809 Greenbrier Circle in Chesapeake.
Police say 28-year-old Jamaar Bryant was with a woman inside of a room at the hotel where two other men were staying. Bryant and one of the men got into an argument and Bryant then attempted to rob the two men, according to police.
Bryant then shot one of the men and attempted to shoot the other. Both Bryant and the woman left the scene.
Bryant has been charged with malicious wounding, attempted malicious wounding, two counts of robbery, four counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held in the Chesapeake City Jail without bond.
The woman has not been charged at this time.
The victim is recovering from his injuries.
