Man taken into custody after four-hour barricade situation in Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – A man is in custody after a barricade situation that lasted more than four hours.

According to James City County police, a family member called for help around 4 p.m. for a 29-year-old man that was threatening to commit suicide.

Police say he barricaded himself in the house on Scotscraig in the Ford’s Colony area.

Officers went into the house and took him into custody around 8:30 p.m.

No injuries were reported.
