Virginia Beach Police make arrest in serial ATM robberies

Virginia Beach, Va. – Police have arrested Latabus Lemont Mann in connection with four ATM robberies.

The first robbery happened on Christmas Eve at 8:00 p.m. at the Navy Federal Credit Union on 1772 Salem Road.

Police say the suspect made an attempt to rob someone at the ATM. There were no injuries and the suspect ran away without getting any cash or property.

Two more robberies happened at the same Navy Federal Credit Union on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. and January 5, 2016 at 6:30 p.m.

The fourth robbery happened on January 10, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at the Wells Fargo on 905 Kempsville Road.

There were no injuries during these robberies. The suspect ran away with cash in the last three robberies.

Police say they were able to find the suspect’s vehicle with the help of descriptions from observant citizens.

Mann was taken into custody on January 12.

Mann is being held in the Virginia Beach City Jail. He has been charged with attempted robbery, three counts of robbery, four counts of use of firearm in commission of felony and four counts of wearing a mask in public.
