Hampton, Va. – The lockdown on the Hampton campus of Thomas Nelson Community College has been lifted, according to their Twitter.
The school advised people in the area to move to the nearest safe location as a precautionary measure.
Hampton Police said reports of a shooting at the school are not true and the lockdown was in place because of a Virginia State Police search nearby.
Virginia State Police are searching for a person who jumped out of the back seat of a vehicle pulled over for reckless driving and ran across the interstate.
