Hampton police searching for carjacking suspects

Hampton, Va. – Police are looking for two men who robbed and carjacked a man and woman Wednesday night.

The robbery happened shortly before 9:15 p.m. in the 2300 block of Shell Road.

A 41-year-old Hampton man and a 34-year-old Newport News woman were sitting in a vehicle owned by the man when they were approached by two unknown men.

One of the suspects fired two rounds from a handgun, and demanded the victim’s property.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, jewelry, and a cell phone, the two forced the victims from the vehicle and drove off with it.

The vehicle was located in the 300 block of West Queen Street.

There were no injuries to either victim.

The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect #1: A black male, 6’02” in his early 20’s last seen wearing a tan hooded sweatshirt and beige pants.

Suspect #2: A black male with a thin build.
