Police find dead body with gunshot wound after report of noise disturbance

Norfolk, Va. – Police have classified an early Saturday morning shooting as an undetermined death.

Police responded to a call of a noise disturbance discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police dispatchers were contacted shortly before 1:00 a.m. about a noise disturbance in the 1100 block of Jernigan Avenue. The call was quickly updated to a possible gunshot victim as officers responded.

When they arrived, officers found a man suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Medics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

According to police this appears to be an isolated incident and they are not looking for suspects at this time.

The victim’s identity will not be released until his family or next of kin has been properly notified.
