16-year-old girl reported missing in Elizabeth City returns home safely

Nyashia Rouson was last seen January 18th at her residence on Calvert Street in Elizabeth City yesterday at approx. 11:00 a.m.

UPDATED:  Rouson has been located and has returned home safely.  

No details have been released. 

Elizabeth City, N.C. – Police need your help locating a 16-year-old girl who was reported missing on January 19.

Nyashia Rouson was last seen at her home in Elizabeth City on Calvert Street around 11 a.m. on January 18.

When her mother came home that evening around 8 p.m., Nyashia was not there.

Nyashia Rouson is described as a black female,  5’ 2” tall and weighs approximately 130-140 pounds.

She has “RDW” tattooed on the inside of her left wrist.

Nyashia has brown braids, brown eyes and wears glasses. She was last seen wearing a burgundy dress.

Police are unsure of her direction or method of travel at this time.

She has been entered into NCIC as a missing person.
