Two charged with possession of cocaine, heroin after being stopped for speeding in Dare County

 Dare County, N.C. – Two men face drug charges after being pulled over for speeding in Dare County. The two were pulled over on in the area of East Lake.

During the traffic stop the officer found that the driver did not have a valid license, then noticed a bag of suspected crack cocaine inside the vehicle.

Both occupants were arrested, and two more bags of crack were found along with a bag of heroin during a search of the vehicle.

46-year-old Gerald Patrick Owens of Virginia Beach was charged with Felony Possession of Cocaine and Felony Possession of Heroin and released on at $20,000 secured bond.

42-year-old Michael Lee Abbot of Virginia Beach was charged with Felony Possession of Cocaine and Felony Possession of Heroin and is being held in lieu of $20,000 secured bond.
