Feeling more like spring than winter….As we move through the rest of your weekend, enjoy it! It will feel more like spring than winter all courtesy of an area of high pressure building in from the south. With southerly winds in place and a good deal of sunshine on Sunday, we’re expecting high temperatures in the upper 60s. A few more clouds will build in late in the day, but overall, no rain is in the forecast. The warm up will continue into the start of the work week.  In fact, by Monday, many areas will be in the lower 70s.  A weak cold front slides in Monday night into Tuesday, giving way to highs in the upper 50s Tuesday. Rain moves in by Wednesday and early Thursday as a stronger cold front moves in. Next week, we’re expecting highs in the 40s.

Saturday Night: Mostly Clear and Cold. Low temperatures in the mid and upper 30s. Winds: S 5-10 mph.

Sunday: Mostly Sunny. Warmer. High temperatures in the upper 60s. Winds: SW 10-15 mph.

Monday: Sun and Clouds. Warm. High temperatures in the lower 70s. Winds: SW 10-15 mph.

Saturday in Weather History (NWS Wakefield)
1966 Winter Storm – Blizzard 15 inches of snow Richmond, 9 inches of snow Norfolk over 2 day period

2010 Winter Storm – 7 – 15 inches of Snow from Richmond southeast to Tidewater; 10 inches Delmarva…4 inches Northern Outer Banks.
