Chesapeake, Va. – A fire destroyed a shed and damaged a home in the Indian River section of Chesapeake on Monday morning, according to the Chesapeake Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to the 1300 block of Ormer Road at 11:50 a.m. When they arrived, they found the shed fully involved with fire.

Heat from the fire melted the vinyl siding and damaged an electrical panel on the rear of the home on the property.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control at 12:06 p.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Due to the damaged electrical panel, electricity to the home was turned off.

The three adults living in the home will be displaced and have made lodging arrangements elsewhere for the time being.
