Suffolk man arrested in Rite Aid robbery

Suffolk, VA — Suffolk Police have arrested a man they believe is responsible for the robbery of a Rite Aid, which happened on January 17th, 2016 .

Lawrence Reginald Claar, 47, was arrested February 1st on charges of Armed Robbery and Use of a Firearm while Committing a Felony.

Police say the robbery occurred at the Rite Aid located off of North Main Street.

The suspect entered the store with a weapon and demanded prescription medication from the pharmacy technician.  Afterwards he fled the scene on foot.  No one was hurt.

Claar is currently being held in Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.
