Norfolk, Va. - Police are trying to find a man who robbed a woman outside of her home on Jan. 28th near Lafayette park in Norfolk.

"It was absolutely terror," said Denise Worden. "My heart was just racing."

A neighbor captured the incident on camera. In it, a man is seen approaching a woman with a gun drawn. He puts it up to her head, takes her purse, and then runs away.

"Looking back, he had so many times to pull the trigger. I didn't know that the gun was loaded," said Worden.

Regardless of that, neighbors say it's frightening and they're rethinking their safety.

"We're looking at putting in additional security cameras," said Dan Lloyd, a neighbor.

2015 saw a four-year high for robberies in the city with nearly 500. Police say victims should just listen if they find themselves in a similar situation.

"Try to remain as calm as best you can. Don't be that hero. Don't fight. Comply and be the best witness you can," said Officer Daniel Hudson.

In this case, police still need help tracking down the robber. They say he was seen in an SUV with a decal in the lower left corner of the back window. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
