Williamsburg, Va. – A man who police say recorded the rape of a 16-year-old girl will serve two months in jail.
Korey Gemmiti, 20, entered an Alford plea for a sexual battery charge Wednesday morning.
The judge sentenced him to 12 months in jail with 10 months suspended. He will also be under five years of supervised probation.
Police say Gemmiti recorded the assault with his cell phone.
He was initially charged with possession of child pornography.
Williamsburg Police say they were notified of the assault in the early morning hours of June 9, 2015.
The victim reported that earlier in the evening, she was with friends at Quarterpath Park and walked into a wooded area with a boy. She says several boys surrounded her and she was sexually assaulted by two of them while another recorded the incident on a cell phone.
Investigators have been able to identify all of the involved suspects, which includes the victim’s friend.
Four of the five suspects are teens, three are 16 and one is 15. Two of them were charged with Rape and Possession of Child Pornography. A third teenager was charged with one count each of Possession and Distribution of Child Pornography. The fourth teenager was charged with two counts of Accessory Before the Fact for Rape and Possession of Child Pornography.
