Reports of shots fired at Joint Base Langley-Eustis

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Joint Base Langley-Eustis was locked down after reports that shots were fired Friday morning.

The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. outside Building 650, which is the Soldier and Family Readiness Center.

Contractors working on the roof thought they heard shots.

No injuries were reported and the lock down was lifted by 12:45 p.m.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
