Virginia Beach, Va. – A man will spend the rest of his life behind bars for the sexual molestation of a child.
Officials say 36-year-old Michael Scott McCann sexually molested a child he knew between June 15, 2014 and September 22nd, 2014.
They say he gave the child money and lottery tickets to get the child to allow him to do this.
The child told an adult who then reported it to police.
McCann denied anything happened.
He has been convicted previously for forgery, uttering and petit larceny.
The jury fixed his punishment for the crime at life and prison, which is mandatory based on the victim’s age.
On Tuesday, the judge formally imposed the life sentence.
No other details have been released.
