Police said they are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in a laundry chute at the D hotel-casino in downtown Las Vegas on Sunday morning.
Officer Larry Hadfield, spokesman for Las Vegas Metro police, said that the body was found about 2:40 a.m.
Hadfield said that it was originally reported that the woman fell down the chute, but homicide detectives were called to the scene when the circumstances of the woman’s death were deemed suspicious.
According to Hadfield, investigators are still trying to determine if the woman died as the result of a homicide, and it will take some time to determine that. Metro later confirmed its homicide section detectives are investigating.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office will later release the name of the victim.
