Chesapeake, Va. – The Medical Examiner released the gut-wrenching details about the tragic shooting deaths of the Dooley family.
According to the Medical Examiner, they were killed by their family member, Cameron Dooley, who also killed himself.
This happened in the Deep Creek area of Chesapeake in the 2300 block of Wildwood Road.
The Medical Examiner says last month, Cameron shot his mother, grandmother, father, sister and brother in the head before shooting himself in the chest.
They say Doris Dooley, Cameron’s grandmother, was shot several times in the head and torso.
Police were called out to the area to do a welfare check at the home. That’s when they found 22-year-old Landon Dooley.
This led them to another home on George Washington Highway where the other family members were found.
When police arrived at the second location, they found Cameron Dooley barricaded inside. Police negotiated for several hours with Dooley before they were able to get into the home. That’s when they found him and his family.
The victims were Cameron Dooley’s father, 50-year-old Steven Todd Dooley; mother, 54-year-old Lori Dooley; brother, 22-year-old Landon Dooley; sister, 17-year-old Brooke Dooley; and grandmother, 74-year-old Doris Dooley.
Police are still working to find out when the Dooley’s were killed.
Police say it is possible the rest of the family was killed days before police made the discovery.
