Chesapeake, Va. - Krispy Kreme Doughnuts opened the doors to their first Chesapeake store on Tuesday morning.
The new store is located at 1444 North Battlefield Boulevard.
The first 100 people in line when the store opened received sweet grand opening gifts.
The first person in line, Larry Ressler, had been waiting outside the store for five days after being dared to do so by his children and grandchildren. As a reward, he'll receive one free dozen "Original Glazed" doughnuts every week for a year. He also got the honor of turning on the "Hot Doughnuts NOW" sign at the store for the first time.
Numbers 2-100 in line received coupons for one free dozen "Original Glazed" doughnuts every month for a year.
There are now two Krispy Kreme locations in Virginia Beach, one in Chesapeake, one in Portsmouth, one in Hampton and one in Newport News.
