Suffolk, Va - Police officers found a man's body at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in the 800 block of Old Dill Road around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Police have classified the death as a homicide. The victim has been identified as 42-year-old Wayne Anthony Watford.

His son, Darion Watford, said he never got the call from his father to wish him a happy birthday on Sunday.

He said he knew something was wrong but never expected the news that he got from his sister just two days later.

"She was just like your Dad's gone, Dad's gone and I just broke down," he says. "I miss him and I wish I had gotten that happy birthday and could hold his hand one more time."

The Medical Examiner says Watford died from multiple gunshot wounds to the back.

Darion said his father did have some trouble with the law over the years and served jail time on and off  but he never heard of Watford having any enemies.

"I'm not understanding it, I don't know if he owed people money," Watford said. " I couldn't give everything but I would have given the best I could to keep my dad alive."

Watford was located after a person called 911 reporting they had seen a vehicle go into the cemetery at a high rate of speed.
