After nine years with NewsChannel 3, Laila Muhammad is leaving Norfolk for an exciting new opportunity at EyeOpenerTV in Dallas.

EyeOpenerTV is Tribune Broadcasting’s syndicated morning show produced at CW33, KDAF-TV in Dallas and seen in Philadelphia, Houston, Washington D.C., Portland, OR, and The Quad Cities (Davenport-Moline).
Laila has been anchoring NewsChannel 3 First at 4 and WGNT News at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. since June 2014.
Before that, Laila co-anchored NewsChannel 3 This Morning for six years.
Prior to arriving in Norfolk, Laila was a reporter/anchor for WNCT-TV 9 in Greenville, NC. She covered everything from investigative reports to Hurricane Ophelia. Laila was also an adjunct professor at East Carolina University, where she taught at the School of Communication for two years.
Laila has recently worked as an adjunct professor at the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications at Hampton University.
Laila’s professionalism, spirit and humor on-air and in the newsroom will certainly be missed here at NewsChannel 3.
