The funeral for Prince William County Police Officer Ashley Guindon is taking place Monday in her hometown of Agawam, Massachusetts.

Officer Guindon was shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call in Woodbridge, Virginia on Saturday, February 27th. It was her first day on the job. She was sworn in as an officer on February 26th.

Her body was later flown to Agawam, where she lived as a child. Her wake was held Sunday, March 6th.

Her funeral procession is scheduled to leave from the Agawam Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Springfield, Mass. She will be buried next to her father at Saint Thomas Cemetery.

Police say her suspected shooter, Ronald Williams Hamilton, also wounded two other officers and killed his wife before surrendering. He’s now facing capital murder and other charges.
