Portsmouth, Va. – Portsmouth Police are investigating a marijuana grow operation in the 20 block of Burtis Street, according to Detective Misty Holley.
The investigation started around 3 p.m. when officers attempted to contact the people inside of the house.
When they opened the door, officers noticed a strong marijuana smell coming from the home.
Officers kept all contents and people in the home secure until narcotics investigators were called to the scene and obtained a search warrant for the house.
Investigators took evidence consistent with a marijuana grow operation.
No one is in custody and there have been no arrests made at this time.
