Man orders sandwich at Newport News Subway, proceeds to rob the restaurant

Newport News, Va. - Police are investigating the robbery of a Subway sandwich restaurant at 320 Oyster Point Road.

It happened on March 12 around 7:41 p.m.

Police say the man entered the store and waited in line to place an order. While ordering the sandwich, the man passed a note, pulled out a gun and demanded cash.

The robber jumped over the counter and took money from the register before leaving the restaurant.

The two female Subway employees inside of the restaurant were not hurt.

The robber is described as a black male, early 20s, thin build, 5’7”-5’9”. He was wearing a black/white scarf over his face, a black hoodie, dark green pants and tan/brown shoes
