Suffolk, Va. – The driver of an SUV has been charged with reckless driving after the vehicle was t-boned by a Suffolk school bus.
The accident happened on Thursday morning at the intersection of Bennets Pasture Road and Lee Farm Lane.
Emergency Communications received a call at 7:07 a.m. about the incident.
There were 39 students on board who were headed to John Yeates Middle School.
Police say a Toyota SUV was on Lee Farm Lane and made a left onto Bennets Pasture Road.
It pulled in front of the bus which then t-boned the SUV.
The students on the bus and both drivers were medically assessed.
At that point, no one complained of any injuries.
While waiting for another bus to arrive, five students complained and were taken to local emergency rooms to be evaluated. Three of the students were taken to Belle Harbour and two were taken to Harbour View.
No other details have been released.
