Isle of Wight County, Va. - Deputies in Isle of Wight County are investigating after a robbery occurred at Langley Federal Credit Union in Carrollton.
The robbery happened at 12:20 p.m. on Thursday and resulted in a multi-city chase.
According to deputies a man wearing a beanie and surgical mask gave the teller a note implying he had a gun. He demanded cash and then fled the scene.
Witnesses say they saw a man fitting the suspect's description run from the bank and get into a parked car.
Law enforcement officers located the suspect's vehicle and began to pursue.
The chase went through several jurisdictions over about 15 miles and speeds were as high as 80-100 miles per hour on the highway.
The suspect stopped on Joliff Road near Market Street in Chesapeake, left his vehicle and ran on foot.
An off duty park ranger came into contact with the suspect near Portsmouth Blvd. and Joliff Road and detained him until Isle of Wight Sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene.
The suspect was later identified as 25-year-old Demarco McMullen of Newport News.
