Man arrested in connection to Newport News credit union armed robbery

Newport News, Va. – Police have identified the man charged for an armed robbery Bayport Credit Union on Wednesday morning.

Officers said the robbery occurred at the location on 433 Denbigh Boulevard just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday

Investigation revealed that a man entered the credit union, displayed a handgun and demanded money.

The man got away but around 2:15 p.m., police took 37-year-old Deshaun Ryan Hall into custody.

He has been charged with two counts of robbery, and one count each of entering a bank armed with the intent to commit larceny, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Hall remains in the custody of the Newport News City Jail.

No one was hurt during the robbery.
