Hampton, Va. – Officers are now investigating after a school bus and a vehicle collided at the intersection of Settlers Landing and Pembroke Avenue on Wednesday.

Hampton Police received a call around 4:30 p.m. about a two-vehicle crash involving a Hampton City School bus and a Chevrolet Malibu.

When Fire and Rescue teams arrived, they realized the driver of the Chevy Malibu was suffering from critical injuries.

The driver, identified as 60-year-old Gloria Ford, was taken to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the bus, also a woman, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

No students were on the bus at the time.
