Las Vegas, Nev. – The Old Dominion University Men’s Basketball team won the inaugural Vegas 16 Tournament Wednesday night, beating the Oakland Grizzlies 68-67!
Trey Freeman, the tournament Most Valuable Player, paved the way for the Monarchs with 24 points.
This is the first year for the Vegas 16 Tournament, which features eight teams not selected for the NCAA Tournament or the NIT.
The Monarchs tweeted about their win, saying “Not everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!”
