UPDATE: Police have confirmed that the motorcyclist has died. They say the man was surrounded by his family.
He has been identified as 57-year-old Michael Wyss.

Police responded to the 9300 block of Tidewater Drive on Friday evening.
A man on a motorcycle was driving southbound on Granby Street when he was struck by a SUV traveling northbound.
The driver of the SUV was making a left turn onto Tidewater Drive when he hit the motorcycle.
Police say the motorcyclist was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with serious injuries.
