Tracking showers for today, sunshine on Sunday….The cold front that brought us rain and storms on Friday will settle to our south. However, some of us will see a few showers today. The entire day will not be a washout, but keep your rain gear handy. There will likely be some breaks of sunshine from time to time, too, but overall, expect more clouds than sun. High temperatures will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Our skies will gradually clear this evening, giving way to mostly clear skies tonight. Low temperatures will be in the lower 50s.

Drier weather moves in for Sunday as high pressure builds over the area. We’re expecting mostly sunny skies and high temperatures in the mid 60s. We’ll start the work week dry with partly cloudy skies, but small rain chances will creep back in for the rest of the week as a couple of weak frontal systems move in. Highs will be in the upper 70s on Monday and the lower 80s by Tuesday.

Also, an Air Quality Alert remains in effect for Mainland Dare County through 7 am Sunday due to the wildfire on the Dare/Hyde county line in North Carolina.

Today: More Clouds Than Sun. Scattered Showers (40%). High temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Winds: W-N 10-20 mph.

Tonight: Mostly Clear and Cool. Low temperatures in lower 50s. Winds: N 10-15 mph.

Tomorrow: Mostly Sunny and Mild. High temperatures in the upper 60s. Winds: W 10-15 mph.
