NORFOLK, Va. – A woman charged with writing bad checks has pleaded guilty.

According to online court records, Mery Ghattas pleaded guilty on Nov. 9 to a misdemeanor charge of issuing a bad check for less than 200 dollars.
She was originally charged with a felony of writing a bad check for more than $200.
According to Norfolk Police, Ghattas made two large purchases at Costco Wholesale in February. One purchase was for more than $4,000 and the other was for $650. Police say the checks were returned on a closed account.
