VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Police have made an arrest in the homicide of a Grassfield High School student.
Detectives arrested a teen on May 5 in connection with 18-year-old Bryant Austin Cueto’s murder. The teen has been charged with murder, robbery and use of a firearm. Police have not released his name due to his age. He is being held in the Virginia Beach Juvenile Detention Center.
According to police, the shooting occurred on May 1 in the parking lot of an Applebee’s restaurant in the 1700 block of General Booth Boulevard shortly before 6 p.m.
Cueto was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries after being shot and later died as a result of his injuries.
Chesapeake Public Schools confirmed that he was a student at Grassfield High School.
The case remains under investigation by the Virginia Beach Police Department’s Homicide Unit.
